Our Mission

Many seniors 65 and older live alone. Many live in unsafe and inadequate housing. Many eat poorly and often have to make decisions between buying food or medications. Together, these are major factors associated with a higher risk of illness, injury, premature institutionalization, isolation, depression, and suicide.

Episcopal Senior Communities is helping to address these problems by providing clean and safe housing to over 800 low-income seniors. In addition, each week, ESC sponsors eight food markets that allow over 500 seniors to shop for fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, and such items as peanut butter, paper products, cooking oils and various drinks at wholesale prices.

Our Senior Center Without Walls program offers friendly conversation and an assortment of classes and support groups to homebound seniors through a unique program using free telephone conference calls. These calls are often the only contact participants have with other people all week.

In an age when the elderly are sometimes ignored or forgotten, at a time of life when they most desperately need support, your donation to the Episcopal Senior Communities Foundation will help the seniors we serve live happier lives by providing them clean and safe places to live, quality food, and social contacts that help to counter depression and feelings of isolation and loneliness.
